lighting 150g for zoos, clams, softies maybe hards?

Ok i am thinking of 2 250w MH's SE maybe double if i can get a good deal

I am wondering if i should have some supplemental lighting and if so what kind.....

Also what would be the best reflectors/ballasts ?

I am looking for good quality but i dont want to break the bank.

The budget is like $100-$250

I am looking at mostly used equip...

I am thinking 10k bulbs?

what you guys think... i will be keeping mostly zoos and softies. I am thinking about a few LPS and the hardier SPS later on.

I definately will be getting a clam at some point?

Just my thinking. You need to get your thinking up if you are going to have sps, clams etc. This is not a cheap hobby! I use these,

48" with (2) 250 MH. Not going to get much for what you have in your pocket at this time. Yes you will need supplemental lighting. Just my 2 cents.

If the tank is 6', I'd go with 3x250 watt and use a 14k bulb.
I happen to like Hamiltons.

ok i now it is not a cheap hobby trust me
the tank is 6ft but i would rather go with 2 250w

If i change the bulb type will i be able to stick with the 2?

if i had the 3 250w w/ 14k bulbs would i need suppl?

The link goes to a pretty good lighting system is Current Usa orbit a good brand ? (but there is no way i can spend 1.2k on lighting)

I was looking more at hamiliton is that a good brand?

Who makes the best lights for the best price?

I dont need top of the line! I need affordable and good.
Therefore i am willing to sacrifice a lil on the quality if i can get a better price.
But i dont want to buy junk!

So if i had the hamilton 72" 3 250W 14k bulb would i still need suppl? Or would the lighting be good?

The 14k has a nice light blue color and IMO you would not need any supplemental lighting.
I have never bought any premade kits before, I have always made my own canopy and bought just the ballast reflector bulb combo's and mounted them in my self. Usually save a ton of money.
