Please help
I JUST BOUGHT 3-250W ICECAP ELECTRONIC BALLASTS and 3 XM 15K bulbs but no reflector. i've seen the reflector online between 35-50 bucks but none of them have lamp cords. how do i connect the ballast to the reflector without a lamp cord. i need one with a male receptacle but i seem to be having a very hard time finding them online. can anyone help me?

The reflector is a seperate unit. You also need Mogul sockets with the cords for each bulb. Unless you're going to use HQI, then you would need double ended sockets I believe. Either way I believe the sockets are like $5 or $10 a piece.

There is two places that come to my mind that carry all this, reefgeek & reef exotics see links below
http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/Par.../Metal_Halide/ http://www.reefexotics.com/moonlights.htm BTW if you bought double ended bulbs make sure you buy refletors that has a glass shielding or the UV generated by the bulbs will burn your corals and fish. Good luck |

what i'm looking for is a cord with a receptacle like the one in this pic and open wires on the other or a wire connector. they are also called c14 connectors. http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...ode=Ice-halide

radio shack sells those cords. I personally wired up my halides with a 10 guage extension cord that I cut to length. Worked great, and looked neat.

I ended up cutting the plug end, using it, then just cutting the other end, wiring it all together.
