I can't ID them. They look cool. Here I'll at least post them for you...

Looks like a Shame-Faced Crab to me. Not sure though. Possibly Calappa genus. It's a long shot, but it looks close

Depends on how you view "good and bad". For about 99.999% of marine aquarists here on Reef Central, this is definitely a bad crab. With that said, they are really cool to watch and quite beautiful.
It looks like Calappa crabs like that can fetch a "fair" amount of money in shops. Calico Crab: $14.99 regular http://aquaticaonline.net/showproduc...siteid=1&cid=0

BTW they make the same noise as the Pistol Shrimp. That "clack" sound.

I'm pretty sure this is a type of crab that only eats zoas. I had a couple that destroyed a few small frags and damaged some colonies.

Platypodiella spectabilis Xanthidae (Gaudy clown crab) Width upto 1.8cm.The pic I have is identical but It really doesn't say much,But from what I remember any crabs from Xanthidae are coral eaters or simply not reef safe.

They are pretty but best kept in the garbage, unless you have some brown zoas you want to get rid of in a fuge. |

He's beautiful! I'm sure he could be fed other foods - most crabs are omnivores and not at all picky. I definitely wouldn't leave him in your reef, but do keep him (or send him to another hobbyist who will give him a home). He'd be a great pet in his own little nano, or a fun refugium/sump dweller.
If you don't want him, I'd happily pay to have him shipped here - I have a 30g tank full of 'unwanted' critters including a Xanthid crab, mantis shrimp, maroon clowns, Caulerpa, ugly zoas (which the inhabitants are welcome to eat), and your little guy would be most welcome to join them
