What water to use?

I don't have a RO/DI unit and don't have a place for one? What can I do for filling my tank with water?

You can use distilled water. Your LFS may also sell RO water and premixed saltwater.

I agree, for a nano just go to the local grocery and pick up a couple of gallons of distilled.

Do you have a tank besides the 2.5 pico, or do you just have a 67.5-77.5g sump on that pico?

You could get one of those portable ro/di systems. I don't have any experience with them, but they just screw to your faucet.

A lot of people use a RO/DI system that isn't permanantly mounted. You can just hook it up to an outside or inside water supply and fill your own containers. When your done just unhook it and put in a closet or the garage.

You can also go to the Local Fish Store and many of them will fill up your 5 gallon jugs with either RO/DI water or Ready mixed Sea Water for water changes for a reasonable price.

The grocery store sometimes will have water machines where you can fill your own jugs or you can just buy RO water from the grocery store.

When you buy water it can get expensive after a while. Some grocery stores want $2 per gallon. With your own system you would be making RO/DI water for 2 to 10 cents per gallon.
