Octopus versus Pacific Coast Imports

Hello,

Can anyone explain the difference (if there is one) between Octopus and Pacific Coast Imports? I am looking at an Ocotpus recirc skimmer on Marine Solutions website at approx. $250 but I think I found the same skimmer at Ameka Aquatics for nearly $65 less. However I am a bit confused because the Octopus at Marine Solutions is badged a 110 where the skimmer at Ameka Aquatics is badged a 1000.

From what I can find Pacific Coast Imports is an independently owned company out of Oregon and Octopus is distributed in the US by CoralVue.

Any thoughts/knowledge of the difference?

Thanks!

Where can you buy an aqua euro? I can't find any retailers on-line.

Aquarium Adventure actually had the 265 gallon recirc model the last time I was in there. It was model number EU-RPS265. You'll probably pay too much, but if you need it quick, its there. By the way, that skimmer is a beast! It seems very very big to me.

I called Aquarium Adventures and they do have a recirc 135 AquaeuroUSA skimmer in stock at the very low price of..........$460!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is nearly twice as much as any on-line retail store. That $240 plus $20 shipping is looking very attractive!

Thanks

It has been excellent! Very quiet for a re-circ, removes a ton of skimmate and not a single issue thus far. One critique, you have to utilize an external collection cup. The hole is very low where the skimmate drains and there is no nut supplied for the user to decide between emptying the skimmer cup or using an external collection cup.

I have a Maxijet 600 feeding it (re-circ pump came with the skimmer but the feed pump is not included). Check out this site, http://www.aquariasupply.com/category-s/221.htm, they are in FL and this is where I purchased my skimmer. Everything was handled well and the skimmer arrived well protected w/ no damage.
