clams

Hi I've just added 2 small Maxima's 1 green and 1 blue I've made small pedestals for them at about 3/4 depth but they don't want to put down there foot and keep getting knocked off or they move and fall off.
the only place I can put them is in the C C substrate at about 24" deep will they be ok on the deck

Depending on your lights, they may be to low.
If you look to finding a calcerous flat chuck of material (I have used the calcerous tubes of worms, they are flat and about 2" in diameter) Set this on the floor of the tank, set the Clam on top of it. He will attach to this chunck of calcium based material in a couple weeks and you can then move him and his lazyboy where you want. I would move him over a series of days so that he can acclimate to the higher light levels.

ive moved them up to a platae at the top which is getting all the light, they have opened again but dont seem to be crawling off as before they arebsat on small aqua putty lazy boyz i made last night, i will keep a good eye as being on top means they could fall down the back of my reef which is a worry

They will attach when they are content. I would make sure the mounts you made are fully cured is all, I do not use the reef putty so do not know how long it takes to cure.

it says 6 hrs but this hasbeen going for 12hrs or more.

I only used it as a thread said that if theydont get a good foot hold bristle worms will eat up through the foot
