my guess 1) Palyzoas and Rhodactus (if its mushroom like - GSP if not), 2) Xenia, 3) brittle stars

I agree with binski. The first image has button polyps (Protopalythoa) on the left with hairy mushrooms (Rhodactus) or Green Star Polyps on the right. The second one is definitely Xenia and the last look like the arms of mini brittle stars.

Collonista. They are harmless grazers and they reproduce well.

When the green things retract, do they retrct into a purple matt? That's how you can tell if they are star polyps.

It looks as though the greenish polyps are a green morph of Erythropodium (or encrusting gorgonian). Green star polyps typically rise from a darker purple "mat", whereas EG arises from a peach to flesh-colored mat. Very nice color, but an exceptionally fast-spreading coral, often downright invasive.

BTW, you can download a freeware program called "Image Analyzer", that lets you set the pic size before you save. It's easy to get a 50K pic instead of guessing how much to compress the file.
It's available on tucows.com I'm sure there are lots of similar progs out there, but I think this is a nifty one! |

Those dont look like rhodactis to me. I may be wrong but it looks like a large colony of green star polyps with the buttons. I think I see their pink base in the gaps between them. I have a colony twice that size that looks just like them. Good colony!!!
