Co2 Regulator Recommendation

I need a recommendation for a good quality, reliable C02 regulator w/solenoid. My deluxe M3 popped a seal after just 7 months use. Apparently, Monolith Monster Marine is no longer in business, and I can't find anyone who can repair it.

Thanks, Geary

Three year warranty on this one. I had one of my check valves go bad after a year, and they mailed me out a new one no questions asked. I have a 20lb CO2 bottle, so I need an accurate bubble count over a very long period. I haven't touched the thing in over 6 months and it hasn't moved!!

Wow.... a 3 year warranty! I wish I'd found that one a long time ago.

Many thanks, Geary

Someone told me that the M3 regulator is now being sold by Marine Depot as their "deluxe" model. You might try them there.

Yes, that's the one I have. Previously, the U.S. distributor was Monolith Marine Monsters (hence the M3), but they're out of business. Marine Depot told me that they're now getting them directly from Taiwan. A six month warranty on a $145 regulator doesn't indicator much confidence in the product. I'm going with the regulator from Aquariumplants.com.

I am interested in this as well. Question: what if someone gives you a 3 year warr and then goes out of business ??? I guess that you are stuck correct? I do like the Best version from AquariumPlants however.
I want that one.

Then we would be S.O.L. That's the nature of the business.

I got the aquariumplants.com regulator and no regrets. Very well made, I got rid of my RedSea regulator after I got this one.

I would like to have a regulator that can be repaired. I get the impression that CO2 regulators are regarded as "disposable". I can't find anyone to repair the M3 I have, and Marine Depot has told me that they can't even get parts from the source in Taiwan.

Old Salty suggested I purchase that unit as well. Milwaukee is crap. I changed a few parts out on it and it still wasn't regulated. Since I have had this unit I have not had to touch it and the needle valve is the bomb! You cannot go wrong with this unit!!!!

The aquariumplants.com regulator has a bubble counter. My Geo reactor also has a bubble counter. Having two like that is not a problem is it?

Thanks, Geary

Not a problem at all. The GEO bubble counter is an automatic fill one; you never have to fill it. The one on the regulator will need to be filled every once in a while, depending on how much CO2 you are using.

i had a jbj that lasted about 4 months, never held a consistent bubble count, then the solenoid died. Switched to a JBJ and its worked flawlessly since.

hah hah ying, didn't know that jbj and JBJ were two different brands.

the first jbj probably meant a different regulator, right?
