uv sterlizer?
what are the coplete benefits of running a uv sterlizer in a reef system? futhermore what are some good uv sterlizers for 100 gallon system? coral life makes a turbo twist any good or is there something better.

IMO their like a insurance policy for your FISH. Their are some small cons for your corals when it come to there "food" that would be in the water. But I really don't see that as a big deal. If you have a lot of Fish I would have one.
I would never get one less than 25 watts. I prefer Rainbow Lifeguard, Aqua Ultraviolet, or Current's _______ (Gamma?)Model. Those use tested Lamps, and are designed well. I've never seen any data on the Chinese PL lamps that Coralife &.... use, and most are designed poorly.

thanks for the info. for most sterlizers i have to buy a seperate pump to cycle water through?

That depends on your system. it esayer just to get a seperate pump.The Lower the water flow the better your UV will work. usualy 100-200gph is good.

I have a 36w AquaMedic that work just as well as a 36w Coralife I used to own. The Aquamedic was only 139.99 at Custom Aquatic.
