Need advice...Anthias!
Hi all,
My royal gramma recently died and I'm looking for a new fish to replace him with. I don't think I want another gramma because even though they are stunning looking fish, he spent alot of his time hidden in the rocks and I would like a colourful fish that stays out in the open. I was thinking about adding some Bartlett's Anthias as they are very colourful. Would they go well with 2 clowns, yellow tang and flame angel? Please let me know all your advice on these fish |

I have a similar situation, only my Anthias aren't Bartlett's. They're P. truncatus. I have a male and a female. The male is a bit of a bully, but not too bad. I have a flame angel and two percula clowns with them. The anthias were in the tank first. The male anthias didn't like the flame angel and chased him a little at first, but never nipped at his fins. The flame angel is fairly dominant, too, and no longer runs away when the anthias chases; he stands his ground and the anthias just gives up. None of the fish care about the two clowns that were added after them.

My only advice - If you have strong lighting, that can make Anthias' hide - make sure there are plently of arches and caves.
I only have 2-175w MH as some PCs and mine hid ALLOT, stayed in the shaded areas. For me that's not a problem since I have several arches where she can hang-out, but is still very visable. |
