tank in your bedroom

Anyone have their reef in their bedroom?

I am in a very precarious spot. I just moved and the floor boards in the living room and even the kitchen are completely uneven and very weak. The bedroom is level and solid. I am trying to sell my whole set up before the end of the month, othewise I will need to move the tank. I would love to keep it as it is my love, however, I am concearned about having a 50 gallon reef in my room. Just curious if you have one in your room....could you share you thoughts good and bad

Thank you,

Depends on how quiet your system is. I used to have mine in my bedroom years ago when I still lived at home. I was constantly messing with it to make it quiet enough to sleep around. I was always successful, but it took some playing with. The first was a fish only 44 corner tank and that was replaced with a 58 softie reef. That one made much more noise, but I eventually got it quiet enough to tolerate. It was great to get my own place and move out of my parents place for many reasons. One of them being able to sleep without an tank in my bedroom. To sum it up, if you are a light sleeper, then no, but otherwise you should get used to it.

if you have air conditioning in your home then go for it but if you dont then it is just a humidifier/heater. my tank did great in the winter but it sucked in the summer because they dont have ac in the apartments out here.

I have my tank in my bedroom and I must say that is was difficult to fall asleep at first but now, I love it. I am always haveing dreams of being at the ocean. I never had such dreams before. The only bummer is waking up every morning and having to pee so bad.

Stability of your floor is an issue no matter where you put it. If you can deal with the noise, put it in the bedroom.
I have spent countless nights drifting off while gazing at the glowing, neon creatures that make up my reef. I find it very therapeutic. It is a great way to start off 6-8 hrs of subconscious brain activity!

I had my 125 in my master bedroom for years and enjoyed it. It was nice to just lay in bed and look into the tank. I currently have my tank in the gameroom and plan to pick up a corner tank to put in my bedroom as I miss it

I have all but a 5 gallon freshwater guppy fry tank in my bedroom. The only reason that one isn't in there is because there is nowhere to put it yet.

Of course, I also have my TV and computer in my bedroom, so I spend all my time I am not at work in there.

Every tank I've ever owned has been in my bedroom, which is too many to count, and never a problem.

I have my 55 gallon reef in my room, only a few feet from my bed. At first, I hated the noise from the skimmer/the light from the fuge at night, but after a week I got used to it. Now if I go on vacation in a quiet hotel room, I have trouble falling asleep

I also have trouble falling asleep in other places because i'm so used to the noise of my tank. Occasionally when the power goes off in the middle of the night, I'll immediately wake up because its so quiet.

I used to have a 125 in my bedroom with no problems at all as far as noise. I loved waking up to it.
