Question Shriviling anemone tentacles?

Is this something to be concerned with? I know that anemones will shrink down to expel water and replace with new, but is this what it looks like? (see the smaller tentacles) All my water test are good per this morning, I feed him about a 1" square of silversides every third day plus he gets the scraps from the 4 clowns. Tonight was his feeding night but due to my concern I fed him this morning. Could I be under feeding him? He is about 8' to 10" in diameter at his largest and I have had him now for a little more than a week. No other problems to be noted.

Thanks for the help.

My tenticle shrinks when I go in cold water... I doubt your anemone is dealing with the same issues .

Sorry for the pointless response, but it was too good of an opening to resist..Good luck with your anemone!

Looks ok to me. Sometimes they don't fill all their tenticles. It hasn't been in your tank all that long and could still be acclimating.

I feed him silversides every 3rd day. About a 1" square. I think I am going to try some shrimp from the grocery store and see how that works. He has no problem eating the silversides though, it just makes a mess of my tank water for a few.

Remove a little tank water. Rinse the silversides in it. Then pour it off before feeding the anemone. This will reduce some of the mess from the raw fish.

The tenticles will look like that when it gets touched or irritated. Not to worry. Also, with 4 clowns hosting, it's probably getting enough food. After it's well adjusted, I'd stop feeding it extra otherwise, it will quickly grow (or split) and get too close to other corals. My bta feeds on the mysis that it catches when I feed the whole tank (plus clown leftovers).

rogerwells, you know we're going to need more info. Water parameters, clowns, how long is lately, and lights?
