?'s About My Leather

I purchased a finger leather back in December for my 75g tank. So far, it's been doing great, going from about the size of a golf ball to the size of a canalope. It looks perfectly healthy, always expeanded and happy.

Recently, it's been starting to loose a 1" size 'finger' here and there. They just fall off, and drift somewhere in the tank. The baby fingers reattach, and start to grow almost immediatly. Right now, I probably have 15 or so 1"-3" leathers all around my tank. The main leather will have a knob for about a day where the finger fell off, then within a week or so, its regrew back.

Is this normal? Do they reproduce this way?
