Exclamation Severed Toadstool-Help!

Bought a Toadstool Leather. Didn't realize until I got home that it had a trunk that was severed halfway through, halfway from the base. Upon placement it broke free from the original rock. Whats the best method of attaching it to a rock? Should I cut a clean edge to the base of the leather before attaching? Any reccomendations?

There's still some rock attached to it, so I would place it where you want it and leave it be. The little remnant from the base might also grow into a new leather (they usually do, place it in similar light / flow as you place the larger piece)
