custom hood Q

So i made(making) a custom walnut hood for my MB7, i just got my 2x32 sunpaq PC lights, i wanted to know what i needed to do. do i need glass between my lights and water? Can i use acrylic in place of glass? (IE much easier to cut plastic than glass in a nice curve...) DO i need anything at all (other than for water protection) to keep wildlife safe?

thanks,

You don't absolutely need glass or acrylic between the tank and the bulbs, but you do need to make sure that water doesn't get onto the metal parts, so I would go with an acrylic shield for safety.

You could always ask your local glass supplier how much it would cost to cut that curve
