i bought a iwaki md-100rlt pump used, when pluged in the motor starts slow ,sometimes i have to turn the fan to get the motor to run, even then it runs slow rpms once started.
whats the problem (brushes ?) and is it worth sending it to iwaki to get look at? |

the start capacitor could possibly be toasted.. .take it out of the little cover on the side and see if it looks ok.

ok, i will take a look, i guess it will show signs of over heating .(brown or black marks on the capacitor)

yes. as a matter of fact, I happened to get a used pan world hd100 a couple of years ago that had the same problem. Upon inspection, the cap had actually exploded sometime and there was a hardened pool of aluminum in there.
Just got a replacement cap from champion supply and all was well. |
