Small purple tang eating zoo's?

I just put this piece in 3 days ago and noticed my little purple tang was nibbling on the polyps...this is not normal behavior....right? ANYONE ever have a tang chew on polyps?

was he just bored..I put a lettuce clip in the tank with sea weed...he's working on that......his stomach gets fatter and fatter yet he will not stop eating.

Some tangs like to nip on corals. I had a nice Sohal that would not leave my Star polyp, leathers, claustera, and xenia alone. I tried feeding him more and providing a variety but he wouldn't stop. I had to eventually trade him to someone that had a fish only system. My hippo and yellow tang that I have now tend to nip on the star polyp still.

Wow. When I read the title of this thread, I thought you had purchased some small purple "tang eating zoos" -- In other words, the small purple zoos had eaten your tang. I was trying to figure out how that could be possible.

I catch my juvi hippo tang nipping at zoos... haven't had him do any real damage yet *crosses fingers*

And those zoos look like they are dying. I'd frag the rock and try to save the healthy ones.
