nice, I love how the tips of the tentacles are completely neon when they are open like that. Later on when they open wider they get more translucent like an anemone

that is an excellent scan! Best I've seen anywhere. Perhaps we will better understand these corals. None of the US based taxonomy sites I've seen gave me any good info.

Here's a shot of my dendros at night...
Thanks Anthony, they are great. I saw one of those Rizowhatevers at Tat's, pretty dang awesome. They also said they had some type of japanese dendro that is very rare, only 5 in the us so far , still cool though. Can't believe that other rizowhatever ate a resplendent angel, I would love to get one of those pygmys but the price tag is too high for my blood Hey Blastomussaman, got any pics of your friends' resplendent?

How would you compare the sting your dendros pack to any of your other lps (elegance, torch, hammer, bubble etc...)? I was offered to add some to a recent order, and the seller claimed they don't sting at all. It didn't make any sense to me. Is it just me or nonphotosynthetic = sting to get your grub on?? Jendub showed a pic of hers at night & said they'd nuke anything near. Anyone have any of your dendros sting anything? Please help me 'cuz I think I'm head over heals and I have captive bred seahorses. They have no prob w/corals like hammer & bubble, but I don't think they could handle elegance or torch. It abosolutely HURT to pass dendros up just in case...

I didn't say they would nuke stuff. Although I have mine in a special spot away from everything just in case. Matter of fact, there was a war between the dendro and a mushroom....the mushroom won.

Yes, they might not have as much of sting as some mushrooms, but when you do touch them, they stick to your fingers, much like an anemone. I would say that keeping seahorses with them could get very risky, I wouldn't try it, but that just IMO. Good luck

They are awesome corals! I got 2 from Anthony and one is thriving. The other one wasn't doing so well, really receded but is still hangin on. They really stand out in a tank, and are open all day. Until you see them in person you might think they're like a sun coral, but there is a big difference.

Sorry, Jendub, it was bugsy that said they would nuke stuff. Thanks for the info guys, I am definitley against placing seahorses with anything that would hang on to you a bit like an anemone. I'll just have to wait for my dream tank...
