Glass, water pumps and suction cups

Ok,

I have been fighting w/ my little external pump for a while now. It keeps un-suctioning itself from the glass and falling into my live rock, etc.

It'll stay up there for a couple of days, then eventually just fall. I've cleaned the suction cups, the glass etc but nothing is a very good solution.

Anyone have a trick for this?

How new is it?

Sounds like new cups may be in order.

If they are in a spot you can dry the glass for a few minutes, I add a small dab of silicon to the middle of the suction cups. Holds like a champ!

This always happened to me, until I switched to the hang on bracket offered with maxijet p.h's.

magnet holders, or glue a bracket to an extra mag cleaner. I have both and both work well. $$$, but worth not worrying about suction cups.

You can make your own brackets for pennies,

Yeah, the suction cups are doomed to failure. The magnets are optimal as you can place them where you want. Most come with a rim mount as well. What brand powerhead is it?
