If you do get ahold of her... ask her if you can have your sack back

I voted no. We're also waiting for the conclusion to the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray competition. You don't want to have to stick one of these next to your old Beta player.

For the price I still think I may do it. It also upconverts standard dvd's, and from what I have read it does it better than any other dvd player on the market today. Most good upconverters are $200-$250. Plus I can take HD I capture from OTA and record it to regular DVD's and play it as HD.

Still thinking, and it depends if I can sell my ipod or not also.

I have 2 blu-ray players, one in a computer and a normal player. I like the blu-ray features better

Saw BR player today. Thought the picture was nice but I don't see the need to rush out and buy one. I work in the vid business so I am pretty in tune with pic quality. Still think it's worth waiting.

NO add in card yet to capture High Definition so you can't burn to DVD yet. You have to wait for CableCard tuner card. Check out this months Maximum PC mag. They even had great dificulty gettin HD content from Blu-RAy tp play due to DRM ( Digital Rights Management) issues. Only 2 video cards out that are HDMI compatible also! Blu-Ray vs. HD_DVD is going to big a bigger pain than anybody has seen yet. Ricoh is relasing a drive for the computer that does both.
