Stores in Raleigh NC
I'm from New Bern and will be in Raleigh this weekend. I have been out of the hobby for a while but just started back with a nano. Tropical Fish World appeared to be the most complete store in years past. Is this still the case or is there somewhere else? Thanks in advance.

You might want to look here and find a local club forum to ask your question. You will probably get a faster and more informed answer there.

Down Under Saltwater Fish and Corals-Garner
Aquatica-Clayton Both right off of 40 Tropical Fish World of Course which has moved but is still off of Capital Blvd. There are a couple in Durham and Chad at Reefscience has a site, but his operation is not open to the public...appt. only. IMO pretty much all the LFS's around here suck. |

You should stop by Down Under, and Aquatica for sure. both are excellent shops! and they are both close to each other.

I am in Chapel Hill and go to Triangle Tropical Fish in durham, Fish world in Raleigh, and Salty Waters in Durham (southpoint). They're all pretty nice. Salty waters has a real nice large display. I'm also looking to check out some new stores as well. So any would be great.

there is a small shop called "aquacade" that just opened. i only remember that it is within 30 mins of wake forest around one of the malls.
they had some "OK" stuff, i got into a bit of an arguement with a lady who works there about if hair algae is good or bad (she thinks its important for the corals health). well, idk what she was trying to get at, but im sure we just were having a communication problem. aquarium outfitters in wake forest, i used to work there. that place has really gone down hill, but i think the owner (kurt) is trying to move into reef stuff. dont ask him for information, he still thinks that skimmers are bad for reef tanks. otherwise a good store.
