Show me your ... Green Nepthea

The first time I ever saw this coral was a few days ago ... I didnt know that Nepthea comes in such cool colors.

Heres some pictures I found in reefkeeping magazine,

Anyone have some in there tank? I havnt seen it in person so I'm not sure if its just the camera making it look so green. Hopefully some one who has it will share.

I have a nice colony and I promise you it is that neon green. Its amazing. I have been trying to get a good pic of it but, i can never get the colors to give the coral justice. I will try again once I get home tonight from work.

WOW! I have been making the runs to all the LFS's and no one has it in stock ... I like to see things in person before I order something but after seeing those pictures I'm definitely going to.

CamBarr- Niiice toadstool ... is that a Nepthea frag behind the big one? What lighting is it under? Also where did you purchase it?

TitanFan- Cant wait to see some pictures. Where did you purchase yours?

Thank you both for responding ... I was beginning to think no one had any.

Here is mine. These are under VHO's. The true color doesn't really come out.

More great pics

All the neon toadstools I see are frags or very small ... are they slow growers?

I have one that's almost identical to some of the first pics you posted reefnewbie. I'll be sure to take some pics when the lights are on tomorrow.

Very excited to see the pictures

This coral has just made me swap out my 65k MH's to 20k's and made me rework my aquascape to include a nepthea patch island in the right side of my tank simaler to what rbakers looks like.

Hi reefnewbie54321, I got a frag of neon from Hyacinth a while back. He has monster colony that he frags and he can ship. He lives 3 doors away from my house too.

Wow, that is a monster colony. Where the colors better in person? He said the color was washed out from the camera flash.

are there any good info sites for them? ive found some but they didn't tell me a whole lot. from what ive read, they seem very similar to this:http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...cfm?pCatId=649
i know they're both nephthea, but sometimes the care is different. ive found out the basics, but was hoping to learn more. any info appreciated! thanks!

I'm going to take care of my "future" green nepthea the same way I would any nepthea so I would say the same rules apply even if there colors are different. I could be wrong though ... I dont have one yet.

if they have one, itll say so right below the pic(took me a minute to figure that out). the thing that this site has over any other is that, for the most part, they show the exact frag that you will get with the price next to it. i knew what the frag i was buying looked like before i bought it. sorry, i got the only frag. the actual frag looks MUCH better than the pic showed when i ordered it, even in the pic above. the green is unbelievable, best purchase i made so far. if they get another one in, dont hesitate to buy, you wont be sorry.

Capnella

Hopefully this new little frag qualifies for this thread. This is a neon green capnella (neptheidae family) and is about 2" long.

This is a symbiotic neptheid so he likes light. I have two 24w T5 (one Midday 6k and one Pure Actinic) above this tank and the growth and color seem to be good.

I have also been feeding some phyto and stirring up the detritus to keep him happy. Neptheids like food.
