Propagation Tank Setup?

Okay, I just got a set of tanks, stacked stands, with 40 Gallon tanks. Each stand holds two tanks.

I am thinking about running theses to a remote sump, and am wondering if this will work?

Can I run a pump line from the sump to the top tank. Have that tank then drain via overflow to the tank below. And have a final overflow in the second tank to return to the sump.

In mind I think this will work without problems, but would like opinions.

Yep, that will work. In fact, that is how some LFS do it. If you can't do the "trickle-down" method, just use a big return pump and put a return in each tank. Though, the first method would work fine. I'll probably be doing something similar for a fuge on my 120. That should be fun..

Let's get some pictures when you set it up!

The beauty of this is that we moved into a larger home a few years ago, with a full basement. I have it 'finished' out for me, plumbing area, that I use for my tank/hobby room. So spills are no problem. I love it.
