hammerhead pump by sequence
I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the new hammerhead pump that custom aquatics is selling from sequence's new reefflo line of pumps.

I'm kind of curious how the loud the pump is and if anybody has any positive or negative experiences with it.

I used to run a sequence dart for a closed loop. It is the smallest of the refflo line pumps. It was dead quiet. Don't know if that would apply to the hammerhead, but thay are in the same line of pumps.

jfyi, check out customaquatics for the same pumps... they are a good bit cheaper. I bet Premium Aquatics would match the price though. I'm thinking about getting the Dart and the Stingray for my 120. From what I have heard, they are a really good external pump to go with right now.. because it is made by sequence, it is quiet, and it is priced very nicely

Look at reef exotics. I think they have the lowest price on the net right now. I have bought 2 pumps in the past from Anthony. He is a great guy.

I've been running the dart on a closed loop as well. Agree with the statement on quiet, I have to touch it to see that it's running.
The only downside is that the thing gets really hot (touching for too long is not such a good idea). The thing upped the temp on my 150 by a good 2-3 degrees (I use an aquacontroller and am able to watch the temp pretty closely). Other than the temperature, it's been great. --sean |
