I think if a fish is going to be that expensive they should not be able to sell them. Put it back into the ocean

just because they are rare in the trade doesn't make them rare in the wild - for example - conspiculatus are common where they are caught.
joculator angels are also very common in the wild, as well as many other rare fish. The reason for the price tag is because small ones are literally impossible to get. the price may be a little high, but it is justified IMO. You wont find another one in probably a decade!

1.Conspic price is getting higher and higher by the collector .
2.I saw hundreds of Conspics, never saw a 3" one, I bet this 3" one was a special effort by the collector who came to visit Los Angeles while his shipment arrived as well. 3.3.6K for this Conspic is alot, but still I saw much crazier prices in Amercan online stores. |

I agree that is what American capitalism is all about. If the people are willing to pay the price, why not ask for it. From what I know conspics aren't that rare just hard to obtain. Just my 2 cents.

My lfs can get them for $750 from his vendor (larger specimens). He'd then sell them for a grand. I know a few local hobbyists who would probably bite, myself not included.

buying a fish for 750$ and selling it for 1000$ is poor business. 800 landed and he makes 200$ on a very expensive fish... 750 is the average wholesale price for conspics out of LA.
