|
need skimmer help
i just bought a new octapus skimmer and i plugged it in and put it in the sump but the skimmer wont fill all the way up with water it is a little more then 3/4 full is this the break in or what

Did you adjust the gate valve or slip fitting?
Sometimes a pump may not completely clear of air in the volute so you can try unplugging and plugging it back in a few time or tilt it a bit to see if there is an air pocket in the volute. I'm not real familiar with the octopus skimmers so these are just basics that apply to all skimmers/pumps. Somebody more familiar with that skimmer type should chime in with more specific help. |
