That's absolutely correct, and the next mention of who has been banned, or speculation about why will be cause to lock this thread. There will not be another warning.

Edited so I don't upset anyone.

Anyway, show us some more pics. H20 that is a really nice tank. I'll toss some pictures of my 180 once I get more rock (TBS) in there.

I hope to do a seahorse one day but I just don't think I have that much time to do one and my 180 but maybe one day. You make it look easy Amanda.

I have a question. I am starting a new calcium supplement. I am starting off right now using Sechem Reef Advantage Calcium. It says if used as directed alkalinity will not be affected. Starting out i am using 5 grams per 46gallons 2xs a week. Do i need to use Reef Builder as well?

Hey again superswimmer!

The best answer I can think to give you would be to get a real good calcium and alkalinity test and just watch your levels. I could say yes or no to your question but every system works differently and some levels change differently than others. I would think you'd benefit from reef builder although B-ionic/C-balance would be far superior to this method and possibly even not much more expensive if any (if you use any of the other supplements that b-ionic covers).

I don't know if my alkalinity is affected by my own RO water or if it's being affected by the CA. but I do use a buffer. I use the Kent's Superbuffer DKH, it has worked perfectly for me.

My fish had babies again on Friday, my Green banded gobies, then proceeded to eat all the babies themselves. I was hoping to get at least one to survive, but they actually hunt them out and eat them, it's crazy!

My macro is starting to grow out of control, and it often detatches from where I have it and floats around the tank, very annoying! So I'm working on that issue, and I still haven't heard from Aqua C on the new nano skimmer, so I'm going to give them a call today. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll get some pics up as soon as I finish working on the tank with this macro.

I'd love to see some pics of tanks, it's been a while! Kayla, Josh, Lori, Landon, Jay, EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

i use dual 250w 20k XMs, with dual 110w URI super actinics, and dual 110w URI actinic whites.

the tank is a little bluer than it apears in the pics, but not as blue as most 20k run tanks.

this is what it looks like with the auto white balance, which i think is much bluer than it is in person.

here it is with white balanced as close as i can get it.

its a little closer to the whiter pic, but i wish i could add a little of the blue back.

EDIT: after looking at it in the post it may be closer to the bluer pic, but still not quite that blue. the actinic whites really make the supplemental light bright and pinkish, which really takes a lot of blue out, IMO.

Jordo, looking good my friend.

Landon, your tank is so sweet! I love all the color. When taking pics, my tank looks too blue with AWB, so I use photoshop to "auto-level" the image. Usually, it does the trick.

Jordan, its looking good man! you are getting quite a collection of zoas there. we may have to work out a trade in the future

Kayla, that is how i got the blue image its weird some days i get the white balance almost perfect with the manual setting. other days i set it with the same piece of PVC and the pics come out green i guess ill keep trying. i wish i could add a little blue with my photo editor, because it just doesn't seem to take enough out of the "blue shots". maybe i need to try photoshop, instead of this cheap knock-off i have

Amanda, patiently waiting i guess not so patient as i keep mentioning it

You should be able to on most photo editors. Usually there is a gamma adjuster and you have to adjust it to have the blue stronger.

thanks Jay,
my program does have "gamma". it only seemed to lighten or darken (if i remember correctly, as i only played with it once or twice).

im getting photoshop here soon, so ill definatly be able to do some doctoring with that. id really like to get the camera to do it though, so i dont sacrifice one thing to get another right....

guess ill keep trying.

Amanda still waiting..........
