I don't know if that's a good price. LFSs are always expensive anyway. If it's in good shape I would say it's worth it. The places around here are around $35-50$. I picked one up from someone who's tank was crashing. It's doing very well. I have it near the top, but it was fine in the middle of the tank too. I have a scwd for current and both outputs are near the top of the tank.

The cup coral will not spread like xenia. If it does you are got to tell us what you are doing. About xenia everyone has it on here becuase as a beginner its a neat hardy coral that soon becomes a nuisance. You can do most lps corals under 320 watts of flourescent. I recommend like frogspawns and hammers, maybe a bubble coral, trumpet coral, most softies will do great under flourescents.

I had mine under 220 watts of flourescents for a few months. It was fine. I did for sure keep it more near the top then. I now have halides.

what are some more corals that would do good under 320 of flourescent, and ones tha twould do good near the top of the water and ones that would do good near the bottom.

I have some guys offerint to ship me some xenia, but i hear it has like a 100 percetn chance of no survival during shipping, which is a dissapointement.

reason i want it is cause i want movement in my tank, s ince i have the octopus , In such a LARGE tank , the tank is kind of boring unless hes out playing.

i though bubble corals were a nuisance cause they sting everything

Mushrooms are always easy. Tree coral of some kind is ok. I even had an open brain under the 220 watts and it was always open. Again it was kept near the top. Xenia are nice, but mine are starting to become a nuisance spreading all over the place. The other corals lexusboy recommended are good too.

I think we have southdown around here if you still need it.

For a while I only saw the brown ones too. But keep looking, you'll run across others. Have you tried Dr. Fosters & Smith live aquaria? They have alot to choose from. I can ship those xenia overnight with heat packs I suppose. Let me know.

This link has alot of coral from dr. fosters that would be good for your tank. Shipping is $25 next day for up to $300. I would be happy to ship you some xenia if you pay shipping, but you could get alot more for your money and they have a gurantee. Just something to think about. I'll have to check into the cost for me to ship the xenia. I'll have to get some type of insulated box, heat packs, etc.

I have a xenia, and it's spreading like crazy. I'd send you a frag for free, but I hear they'll die during shipping. If you want movement, what about frogspawn, hammers, torch, some large polyps, flowerpot (yeah, I know, not the best coral to keep as they don't always live well in reefs, but I didn't know that when I bought it - have had it for 6 months and it's doing OK so far), green star polyps, and shrooms. Also, I do have bubbles, which I love, but I just keep the other corals away from them, and nothing had died...yet.

I have 4x96 pcs over a 70 gallon, and all are doing well
