Why is this so believable. Singe is really a beautiful cat tho.

So exactly what kind of camera did you get.

I got a Canon Rebel XTi with a couple of different zoom lenses and a 100 mm macro lens.

I have the same camera but only have the 55mm macro. Love this camera. Makes me look like I know what I'm doing when it comes to photography

Nice shots Les! Pets are great subjects to practice on.

One quick tip for animals....focus on the eyes. You've got great depth of field and color and everything but the focus point in the first shot is just a shade off. Looks like maybe it focused on the nose. Using the eye of the animal as the focus point you'll get more of the face in sharp focus.

Other than that, awesome job and keep sharing!

Thanks for the tip, VR. I've never really used a SLR before, so I have a pretty big learning curve ahead of me, lol.

The weather here is crappy so I can't go outside. It's either I take pictures of the cat, or pictures of my English teacups.

Yes, we are hopelessly predictable in many ways, aren't we?

Kfisc, I took some tank shots...but alas, my tank glass is horribly dirty and I've been too lazy to scrape it down lately.

I had a much harder time with the tank shots, but here are a few:

Ok, I'll stop here before I get kicked outta the Cage for posting tank stuff.

Are you using a tripod Les? If not, you should get one. Makes taking tank shots alot easier If you really get into taking pics of your tank, you might want to buy a remote shutter release as well

Yeah, I fortunately have a tripod already. The remote shutter is already on my list. For the close up shots, I just used the camera timer so I wouldn't shake the camera, but that was kinda annoying to wait 10 seconds everytime, LOL.

Andrew, I took a FTS, but I'm too embarrassed to post it--I went away for the Holidays and I haven't cleaned the tank glass since, haha. I can try to take a pic of kitty eating, but it might be more fun to take a pic of him hacking something up. Half of my place is tiled, but he only pukes on the carpet.

Debi....ummm......oops!

Chevy is a pretty cat too.
