I was told the one in the foreground was blue and it actually has a blue tint but it pulses. It is definitely blue compared to the pink one in the background.

BTW, it was free (sort of). I got it in a trade for 2 purple mushroom heads and some palys.

I use to have Fiji Pom Pom that was a steel blue color, possibly what you have.

humanremainz - Did you mean to say 50 k? That seems excessive I've never heard of them before.

I am receiving some of Fraggle Reef's Blue Cisp. tomorrow. I hope it made it 200 is more than what I planned to spend on any coral. Also receiving some Dendros from them. Incredible price there. If these make it I might invest in the pink ones they have.

Anyway, what is the best way to propagate this stuff? Just cut it at the stalk with a razor where one branches off the other like xenia?

yes 50,000 kelvin .Iwasaki makes it ,if you look at Hello lights they have them, it's sort of an ugly color IMO, but you really do notice the sparkles in the Cesp.i bet if you mixed it up with a 20K it would be a good combo. hey mikeman what part of Ca you in?your frag look's amazing..........

Hey humanremainz, glad you like my cesp. I think my macro setting picture showed how beautiful the true blue xenia is and showed the glitters in its flesh.

I'm in Nor Cal (sac area) BUT I use to live in Orange County. I might move back there someday.

I'm using a 7.2 megapixel Casio Exilium under the Macro settings features.

Whatever digital camera you get, make sure it has a macro setting. That is what lets you take really close up pictures that look clear.

Take some pics of your cesp humanremainz and what other color morphs of cesps are there? Let me know!

What seems to be the best conditions for your cespitularia? Bulb choice, additives, flow, nutrient levels?

bmwardo, I am using a 14k bulb that comes with the sunpod 150watt hqi.

I have two frags of blue cesp and they are both at the bottom of the tank and seem to be doing well.

I don't put any additives in my tank and they get medium flow, nutrient levels in my tank are low as I have a skimmer and cpr aquafuge attached behind the aquapod. I will add a few fish soon so we will see how it does then.

Some more pics of my cesp guys! I can see growth on it daily! I see little baby stalks on it getting bigger and bigger and seeing new stalks forming. Not that fast of a grower, I think maybe a millimeter a day but that will add up in a year!

Larger frag of cesp

Pic of both cesps, you can see the nice glitters on the small one in the back

t11t5, if you can find someone locally that has a cesp then that might be better than online. There are a few online places that sell it which you can probably trust.

The main thing with the cesp is, that you can visually see the glitters/sparkles really easily. If you know of a reefer around that has it, see if you can take a look at it and if you see glitters, then its a cesp.

There are some people on RC that sell the cesp and they are trustworthy too.

humanremainz, thanks for the link........some cool pics. There are some boring looking cesps in the pics but then there are some crazy looking ones.

Echidna, have any recent pics of your cesp? If so, show us the glitters

I think I do have a couple pictures that are more recent. I'm on vacation but I can try to get someone at home to send them to me. Otherwise you will have to wait til I get back in August. It is coloring up a little bit though and polyps are starting to form.

Hi all!

I just two big rocks of cespit this morning, hoping to grow it out if I'm lucky. I have encrusting blue anthelia that grows like wild fire so maybe this one will do well too.

How many days does it take before it opens its polyps completely and looks more furry? Mine just looks kinda nubby right now.

What kind of light, flow do you guys keep yours in? Does it need anything special like live phyto, etc?

I'll get some pics when I get my camera back.

Cheers,
Morgan
