zep,
I think yours is a bit too smooth for ech or sub ech. I would think it is a Favia as well.

Small colony about 9 heads...

I have seen lots of Red/Green but this one has more Red in it than other Red/Green... I was going to name it Strawberry but someone is using that on micro already : ). Maybe Strawberry blast : ) how is that?

Dumb question, but do all Acan Lords look like that (mdt178's pic)-with the completely separate polyps and tissue attachement between polyps? Don't have one yet, but that would certainly make identifying them a lot easier. Every time I see them, they are fluffed, so I never see the areas between polyps...

The polyps in that pic look a little ticked off, when they puff up, it should resemble something like this-

That one is pretty sweet, too. Not a pink a green, but I like it almost as much.

We should call all of Acan lords with the name Indo-American or Japan-American lords since they are growing under american water and using American equipment..

Here is my colony... started as two... and now is ten! This is a horrible picture as there is a lot of algae growth. These guys survived 96 degree temps for 12 hours. I would call that hardy as I have lost almost all of my sps due to that incident. Something with the temp swing caused a nutrient release and a very bad algae bloom. I am in the process of rebuilding my reef and will be picking up another clean up crew ASAP. Until then, it will have to look horrible. Anyway, here is the pic...

The temp probe, that controls the heater, got flipped out of the water while I was cleaning. I didn't notice it until the next morning. Since the ambiant temp was 72, the heater plugged away all night.
