How old is the tank? The cap in question may have been stressed and lost it's colour. I have a green/purple rim cap I've had for a almost a year and it still isn't the colour it was in the original owners tank. What is your bioload like? with the phasguard it's likely not nitrates. Potasium deficiency perhaps?
How about some pictures.

I added potasium and amino acids and all of my colors are becoming brighter. Check out the ZEOVit method. They sell certain supplements to make certain colors more vibrant. You can buy the same supplements and produce the same results.
Good Luck!

no 2 tank parameter will be alike. You get a coral from a tank and the color change after you put in your tank because the parameter of the 2 tank are different. First your water have to be up to par which mean alk, cal, mag and other trace element have to be sea water level atleast. Also your lighting and flow need to be adequate. You also need to feed the corals to get better color. In the ocean the corals get energy from the sun in the day time but at night time they do feed on phyto and other food to supplement. Light alone can not give them rich color.
