I'm no GEO... but

It holds water

$15 strip of 1/4" extruded. It went together pretty well, although some of the glue ran down the sides a tiny bit. The top is mostly cosmetic, as that one was a PAIN to glue all 4 sides at once. It's glued in a few spots, but not nearly across the entire piece. As well, the cuts aren't too clean and they didn't line up 100%, because I didn't have an easy way to do it with my router.

But... not bad for my first try, and it does hold water.

Next one will be better. Step one of two enhancements for my workshop JessEm router lift plate.

The plate will eventually get installed in the add on board for step two of two enhancements (on order)

I've always wanted to get into woodworking in a serious way... So I figured I wouldn't mess around.

I'm going to make 3-4 small ones to try to grow some things out. Phyto, pods, roti's, who knows what else. Not sure how it'll work, but we'll see

That looks pretty good. Great job. I think what geo was saying in the training that if you leave a bit of overhang on the pieces that you can router them off after you are done so that you can router off the glue drips.

I may have that wrong but if not and it helps then great.

Fense is Biesemeyer style, and I went with the 52" long unit.

Easier said than done I do know what he means though. This time I tried to install the top with the tank upright (which is when I had most of my dripping). Next time I'll invert the tank, which will probably make it easier (as long as all the glue doesn't shoot out do to the weight).

My biggest problem was the fact that I just used my table saw. My router table wasn't complete yet, so I had to rely on the table saw to cut the pieces perfect (which didn't happen). Geo wasn't kidding in his presentation. Even the slightest imperfection on the edges can cause major pain.

Well on my way on project 2. This one is MUCH more difficult.

Nothing is glued yet. Waiting on some parts. It will be a phos reactor.

Very nice work. Everything looks clean and wellmade.

Where did you get the router table from? What kind?

Well, it will go into my General table saw extension piece when I get it. I practiced by picking up the same type of material (plastic/laminate covered wood) and sitting it on sawhorses. The router lift is the rout-r-lift by JessEm. I used their template piece to cut out the section that it drops into.

2 - shipments via UPS
2 - scrapes
2 - "really good" scrapes (where are the band aids?)
3 - stubbed toes
? - number of expletives as I made mistakes
12+ - hours

....

And I haven't even applied glue yet and might get to start over when it leaks! hehe

I had to do a little "silicone like" seal around the unit at the bottom and top with weld-on 40. That sealed up the leaks like a champ. Pretty cool stuff to work with too.

So it's running Just passing water right now.

It's just a WITTLE guy!!! (yes, my kalk reactor is missing because it's on the floor by the sump )

Nice! Where did u get the o-ring from? Also, what are you using to glue the acrylic together? Where can you buy the plastic wing nuts and screw too?

That would be me.

I figure for me to make something like a Kalk reactor, It would probably cost me in the area of $900. Not counting tools, broken objects or trips to the ER...

SO $200 for a GEO is Really a bargin...
Plus you get a sticker with a Geo.
