Coral wars.

Just thought I would share the coral wars going on in my tank.

First the villain - Hammer

now the victim - Montipora peltiformis

and another shot from above

Gotta love reefing

Not excited, just thought I would share. I have no room to move the Hammer and it is very healthy where it is. And as you can see the Monti is encrusted to the large rock, I have already fragged it twice, it grows like a weed.

Should I try to cut back the dead tissue? I left it there to block the tentacles of the hammer.

I understand what you are saying dodgersfan25, but the coral (monti) is not dying, it is growing in different directions, that is why I left the dead tissue to block any more damage.

If the hammer grows much more I will have to frag it I guess, I just hate cutting up corals.

I was thinking the same thing, but then the hammer might reach even deeper into the colony?

I would love to send some, but shipping from AK is a killer.
