Good ways to direct flow from a manifold (other than PVC pieces)

Hey guys, I am about to get started on my manifold but have one small hangup now. I am going to do the manifold so it goes over each short edge of my tank (125g) and over each cross member. On each of the crossmember pieces I was wanting to put 2 4-way splits. In this case each cross member would have two outputs on each side. On the edges, I was going to put two 2 T's on each side. This would give me 12 outputs total. I am running a dart on this system BTW. Anyways, I'd prefer not to have big PVC pieces sticking into the water. Are there any options out there that allow me to direct flow (like those ball joints do) but don't taper down so small? At the point that the water leaves, I'd like it to be at least 1" in dia. preferably 1.5". Thanks everyone!!!
