Exclamation Colors under 6,5k PC Prop system...

Ok, so I am planning a prop system, and I would like to start with zoa's... Just some simple one's to see how It works out, Then some better, or desirable one's...

so As of right now I have a 96w 6,5k PC light, Over a 36" Tank, The corals will be on a eggcrate platform to be about 12" from the light...

So This light is Temp, I will either get a 2x 96w 6,5k PC to add, or if I can talk the parents into it, a 150/175w MH (But I would just get a 250w, they wouldnt know the difference!!!)

And I would like to know how the CURRENT lighting will work out for now... The lights cant be upgraded for about 2 months...

So I would like to know what kind (If any) growth I could expect... I would also like to know how the colors would look... And how long it will take them to "Color up"

These would be frags I'd keep for myself, and for trade, or if anyone wants for cheap sale. I would like them mostly for trade, but would think most poeple would not be interested because of the colors; I assume they would not look too hot...

And what (In your opinion) is the optimal tank specs to grow Zoo's?

I figured there's not a better place to ask then here!

Thanks a bunch

-Tim

Under that temperature lighting, you will get good growth but you may be sacrificing color. Under a bluer light you will get better color but slower growth. I've heard of growing the frags really big under like 6,500k and then putting them under 20,000's to color them up before selling.

mine are under about the same conditions you talk of. I have the 4X96 watt orbit fixture. During the growing season for my zoos i turn the 2X6500K's on and then I turn only the 2X20000K actinics on for like 2 weeks then I turn on both for a little while. If you give me your e-mail I'll send you some pics.
