Placement of Zoos

I got some new zoos over the weekend. I have PC lighting and was wondering where I should put them all. I have light pink, dark pink, deep blue, bright neon green, orange, and light green. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What are the dimensions of your tank (especially depth) & how many watts of light do you have?

Cheers Shelton.

Think I should put the blues more to the bottom or towards the top as I'm using PC lighting?

It depends on the colors. I keep my pinks, oranges, and reds high up in the tank. My greens are about midway and my blues are on the bottom and still looks nice. If they look like they are losing color, try moving them.

How much flow do zoo's like? I have 1 Maxi Jet 900 w/Hydor FLO attachment and currently have 1 Seio 620 but I am replacing that with another Maxi Jet 900 as it is too big and bulky for my size tank, so I will end up with 2 Maxi Jet 900's. Too much/not enough/just right?

I'd say that is good. Zoo's seem to like flow, but not direct flow.

ok i have a question. If the zoos color gives them preferance towards the middle or bottom of the tank, should i provide any kind of shading? Like if i had greens and i put them on a ledge i like, should i make an overhang to partially cover them up, or just let them be completely exposed towards the middle? same question for the blues.

Seems this is as good input as you can get, to me. Around here, I've been taught acclimating them to your tank parameters is the second step after inspecitng them for problems. The next step is acclimating them to your lighting and currents. Getting them in the tank and safely into the bottom and then rest while they open up, then moving them up in the tank to places you like and watching to see how they adjust. If they do, great--- if not, time to figure if it's lighting, flow or a problem you missed.

It's great for people that have years of experience to draw on their past and be able to place orange here and blue there. Being new, we need a way to make that learning curve happen, trial and error. On top of that, our tanks each being unique, we'll be next to say, here's what happens in my tank.... your experience may vary...
