Has anyone though of putting a manifold and wavemaker together?

I was wondering if anyone has thought of combining the calfo manifold design with a Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector?

I had 2 of those deflectors and they keep blowing off the powerhead. I would get some small plastic screws and drill a small hole in the neck to keep them on. I now use a manifold system tied on to a oceansmotions 4- way. 2-3 outlets on each loop. Am very happy with the flow.

If they don't blow off they always get stuck with snails, esp smaller Stombus grazers. The hydroflor gets stuck until I can wedge the snail out.

I have tried it, it seems to reduce the flow a bit. I would like to get at least 4 of them. And give it a try.

Cool!! Some one has actually tried it. I know that they will rob some flow from the powerheads, that is why I was thinking of getting a 2400 gph pump or even a 3600 gph pump for 6-8 nozzles.

I am thinking that they would do so much better than nozzles always pointing in the same direction. I am not sure what kind of randomness you get from such systems.

P.S. thanks for the picture. (those things are huge)

moumba, could you please post a pic of your manifold tied into an oceans motion unit. Am really wanting to use a manifold but require more randomness than just a bunch of linear outlets. Thanks

Digital camera down but what I do have is varing linear flow. Meaning each nozzle goes from being on for 30 seconds to being off for 30 seconds. This doesn't give you the same turbulent flow you get hydroflo (unless you point the outputs directly at each other). I just haven't had any luck with anything with gears or something like that in my tank. Might work in yours jaden.
