20 Gallon Upgrade

Im going to be doubling the size of my aquarium soon, to a whopping 20 gallons. Im going to use the same halide and 10 gallon sump/fuge. I will take some pics and post them on the current tank, and record my progess throughout the build. Its not going to be very pretty, but it will be functional and thats all I am looking for. With the help of Travis i hope to keep the costs low, and learn from some mistakes on the original tank. I will post some pics tonght.

Cory-
I thoroughly enjoy my 10 gal. There are so many wonderful creatures that we can't have in a big tank that will enchant you in this smaller one. Just plan accordingly and enjoy!

Did you get your ticket yet?

So what all do you plan on putting in the 20? Is it going to be a reef or fish only? Also, what kind of fish are you thinking? Sorry for the million questions right off the bat

Serra-I havnt got it yet. I think im going to pay online and have them held till CRASE

jeepers-I will be putting my reef critters in the 20, add more corals. For now just my clown goby, maybe a firefish, or pair of clowns. I really like clowns but EVERYONE has them. But my wife wants some, so thats probly what will end up in there.

I agree Sheryl.

I have just converted my 12 gallon Eclipse to a nano reef and I am looking forward to it. It already beats the crap out of how it looked as a fresh water tank, even though it only has live sand, about 10lbs of live rock (so far), mushrooms and kenya trees.

Remember that the trick to small tanks is a very low livestock level. If things go awry, the go fast. Clown goby and a firefish, with a shrimp and some shrooms is pushing it.

I will try to take some pics of my 10 tomorrow. BTW, I have a big wad of chaeto in the tank to do some algae scrubbing. I just thinned it out so I know it's working!

Looking good Cory! About clowns...I will have 2 pairs in different tanks. You can never have too many clowns! They are so entertaining.

Update!

Well i had enough time to do a few things. Travis drilled my tank today, i watched and ran the water. He says maybe when i grow up i can drill one. I come across lots of large pvc and cut some 8" in half for an overflow. It just needs some trimming and holes cut in it. And i bought two clowns today. Enjoy!
