Resun Waver-15000

Anyone have some info or experience on these pumps? They seem to move a lot of water and includes a controller for a very reasonable price.

Apparently this one is 110V, should work in the US.

i'd buy it from that ebay seller, but $45 for shipping!? that's a bit too much right now if you're not totally in need for it.

we need to find someone who already has one, either in the US or outside.

The biggest plus about this pump outside of its great power and low price is it does appear to be a low voltage ***DC*** pump. which means, it could very well be used to make waveboxes and shouldn't have much of a problem w/ being turned on and off...

Yeah, that's the only thing stopping me from getting it too.

The shipping is so high because these come from China, no one in the USA is selling them yet.

How controllable are these units? Is there a night mode or a feed mode?

What size tank do you have and how do you like the flow on the resun?

TIA

Nice pics quangtam. In the second pic, is that a maxijet magnet in comparison? If it is, that Resun magnet is huge.

The flow does not increase gradually, it jumps from low to med to high adn back to low, you can adjust the time for each setting, there is no night mode. It is not strong as I expected at high setting, may be because of large opening (>2"), but I don't think it is 4000 gph (they should have used 2 blade prop for stronger flow). There is no way to take the prop off the magnet.

I have been using one for a couple of weeks. I agree it does not appear to move as much water as the 6100. It goes from slow to medium to fast, min times for each are around 5 secs. A bit too long to get up much of a wave motion
The flow does appear to be wider and less direct than the 6100

But for the price here, around 1/6th of my 6100 with controller, no complaints

What do you think the max flow is, in your estimation?

How do you test the flow of a stream pump?

Here is a short test, I set 10" for low, 5" for medium, 2" for high. Make sure to turn the sound on.

Probably little less than Tunze 6100. Power consumption per Kill a Watt low=8w, med=15w, high=30w

QT--- Have you bag tested this? The larger output opening would definitely make it feel like it's not putting out as much as the Tunze 6100 but I'm betting the flow rate is comparable if not more so than the Tunze.

Also I bet you can swap out the propeller if you really wanted to Might have to destroy the stock prop in the process but I bet you could.

I ordered one from www.reefshops.com. Shipping was $16.50 for 'express' shipping from China. Supposedly it will be here in somthing like 8-10 days.
I'll post back once I receive it.

How can you bag test a pump that takes less than 1 second to fill a gallon bag?
