The AquaSience DUO is also a good bulb and also the KZ bulbs. Both bulbs have some LUX more then the ATI Aquablue spec. This point is not a quality aspect. The ATI bulbs have more blue parts.

Claude from Fauna Marin was over here at the weekend presenting his range to our local club.

He said that the Aqua Science range were 5 band phosphor tubes made by Narva, compared with the KZ tubes as triband made by the Sylvania and that both had 5-6% red with the remainder 50/50 white/blue. His claim was the the 5 band phosphor tubes would be better for growth compared with 3 band tubes.

Whats your experience of this please?

we have 3 very good products.
I didn't detect a better or faster growing by using the FM tubes.
3 band or 5 band....I know this discussions

During the summer time they fighted by better arguments.
At the moment there is a comparison between the tubes running. In a store in Germany they have running both tubes over the same frag tank (left side vs right side)

This tests are done by my reefer friend, who works in medical institute.

But I think, that's not the most important. Don't you think some statements and tests don't fit together?

Just a lot of history behind this that did not begin with these bulbs. Other than who is making the bulbs I'm not at all sure what your point is and if I do understand it... is it all that important? Mr. McDonald didn't nurse the cow himself but it is his hamburger I ate for lunch.

Stunning - great to see the colours comeing out so quickly! What % are from the old reef?

I'm wondering how much is due to the flat line ca/dkh/mg you can achieve with the balling method - compared with relatively clumsly CA Rx?
