PS3 news!

The PS3's graphics are amazing and many PS3 games are playable at E3 2006.

And now for the news:
1. SONY changed the controller so it has a motion censor in it for like when you are playing flying games you can fly the plane just by moving the controller around without any buttons.

2. PS3 and PSP will work together in many ways such as the PS1 emulator where you can download PS1 games and play them on your PSP.

3.SONY finally said the prices.
PS3 with 20GB HDD $500US
PS3 with 60GB HDD $600US

4. Launch is on Nov 17 for the US.

Seems like the 360 aint getting to much attention from gamers at E3.
But why would it I mean the PS3 and Wii are playable there!!

Only 2 reasons to get a 360
1. Halo
2. PC ports

Hey Brandino,

Since you are a PS brain:

I thought I heard Grand Theft Auto: Liberty Stories was coming out for PS2 this year. Know anything?

I can't get past flight school in San Andreas so I'm looking forward to another Grand Theft Auto game I can not finish. (I've only been working on San Andreas for like what....2 years, that 1 circle the airstrip part......arrrghhhh).

Liberty City Stories is set to hit the shelves this month or next(as far as I have heard) and it will be $20.
Rockstar will not have a booth at E3 this year.

BTW
Expect a Wii thread tomarrow night from me.

hmm, lets see, no rumblepack for the controllers(interferes with motion sensors), no dual HD outputs, 20gig console wont have memory card/sd/compact flash card ports...BluRay is only 2x rather than the speculated 12x...more expensive than 360...and so far the game footage I've seen has been on par with the 360's. Meh, so far I havent been wowed.

Cool stuff, but I still think the price point is way too high.

Fortunately, I am only now getting into the PS2 market and have a LONG list of games that I want to play. So by the time I get finished with all of them the PS3 and its games should be much more reasonable.

And from what I have heard, Sony got sued by Nintendo in regards to the rumble features in their PS controllers and Nintendo supposedly won. Can't wait to see what happens with these new controllers.

Check out some of the trailers. I think the PS3 is looking mighty fine.

Naughty Dog's trailer looks absolutely awesome.

the $200 difference between the X360 and PS3 is the big catch point- I've seen nothing graphics wise to justify the price difference as of yet Ace.

I'm done with Sony...they showed with Socom3 that they can't be bothered to support their games' online play, I won't be buying the PS3. I've had my 360 for a little over a week now and I love it. Specially now that I tore it apart and spraypainted the case black, that white WAS ugly!

Sony seems to be getting ripped a new one concerning this issue, and rightfully so. The redesigned the controller to include the gyroscopic enhancements because of of the buzz, the wii(revolution got at last years E3). From what I have read, it would seem that it is a poor knockoff at that. Which may even hurt sony if they try to market it against the wii when the wii is so much more precise and dynamic, not just 6 directions of motion but speed, and spatial relation to the tv.

keep dreamin'. $600, and it doesnt even do everything Sony bragged it would.
oooooh MSG4....the Metal Gear series hasnt been an overly unique series, what else you got? Final Fantasy? no thanks, not interested in turn based battles - KOTOR series would have done much better had they not gone that route...Grand Tourismo? Forza Motorsports is it equal...Grand Theft? ehh, I was never impressed by its graphics, open world game play is a great innovation, but its not unique anymore- Can you say ESIV: Oblivion?

Go ahead and buy the PS3 - its your money, enjoy - I'll stick to my 360, and the extra money in my pocket.

Budha, you at least have to admit the PS3 is a powerhouse worth getting at least for the amount of developers that will make games for it.

Here is the thing. It's really a catch 22. The developers will only make games for the system if it has a large user base, well at least later games, many will make games suspecting a large user base. People will only buy the system if developers will continue to make games for it. I think that initial sales will show developers and gamers where the PS3 stands. At the price point, I think gamers with jobs will buy it but parents of gamers may not. The PS2 had quite a bit going for it including the dvd player. At the time parents wanted a dvd player, so they bought the PS2 because it was similarly priced to other DVD players and they got the game system that their child wanted. I think that since HD video is not as big today as dvds were then Blue Ray may not be the driving force that dvd was for the PS2.

actually, I warned you about this previously- a good many of the original PSII game developers refused to sign exclusivity contracts with Sony this time around- The SAME DAY Rockstar's contract ended with Sony, the GTA series WERE ON THE SHELVES for X-box - not many independent developers wanted to get screwed like that again-
The Sony exclusive titles that I would possibly want are few- most have equivalents like Grand Tourismo- I have Forza Motorsports for X-box, and FM2 is slated for release on the 360, so I have no need for GTHD. And there are several FPS shooters available for 360, and more slated for release - why do I need a PS3? Seriously, the 360, from what I've seen is matched graphics and load speed wise, so what is there that Sony has that I need to drop $700 on?
