I have come up with a simple equation:

Let x = reefing
Let y = money

x=y

Ah, you lost a negative sign!
reefkeeping = -money
That's your real equation!

Damnit! Why couldn't you guys have said that BEFORE my 1 hour edit time limit was up?

By the way, if my tank was a human, it would have gone from a zygote to a plump little baby by now.

Alright, so today I went over John's house to take a gander at his set up. He had his lights shipped down to him, leaving his tank without light for 48 hours. Nearly everything was dead, but I came home with around 20 hermits and snails, various types, a bunch of blue mushrooms, some rock, and a near-dead bubble coral. I expect nothing but the hermits and snails to survive, but hey... it might just work out.

Other spoils from the remnants of his system included an RO/DI Unit (perfect condition), the exact same type of Ballast I have, lots of fish food, and a test kit. No more lugging buckets!

Alright.

I recently went on vacation, and was gone from Thursday to Monday evening. I rigged the halide on a timer to turn on at 9am and go off at 10:30pm. I also acquired a PC fixture. I intend to hook it up with actinics and put it on a timer to get this schedule:

6am - Actinics on
8am - Halide on/moonlight off
11am - Actinics off
3pm - Actinics on
9pm - Halide off/moonlight on
11pm - Actinics off

This will merely be for looks, and I think it will look rather nice indeed. The tank's lighting seems far too static - moonlight on at night, halide on at day. No sun rising and setting, just POOF. One second the moon is fully out, the next the sun has appeared in full noon glory in its place. This will give me something different to look at every time I look into my tank, aside from the ever-changing balance of life wthat resides within my little glass box. I am also considering getting a track for my halide, though I am unsure as to whether they offer them for such small footprints.

On another note, 2 years and 24 days ago, I joined RC and embarked upon my (painful/pathetic) journey to reefdom. Henceforth, I shall update you on "year-agos" of other dates significant in my own little world, including wonderful links to my wonderful first threads. Feel free to click the search button above my name and go back in time to the last page. I'm sure you'll find my immature, obnoxious, whiney, and uninformed posts to be decently amusing.

And, as for a full tank shot, the tank is looking so great that it may just be time to take one. However, I must warn you that the majority of my SPS bleached while I vacationed, so it looks like a graveyard. Such is life. I will commision some zoanthids to cover their remains with their colorful, flowery selves.

Cheers!

To catch up on my missed (2)year-agos...

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...17#post1513817
Above we find the first thread I made. Ever. It dates back to the Eigth of July of the year 2003 AD. The message first scarred RC servers at approximately eleven o' six AM. Contained within it, you will find me, a pathetic lifeform composed mainly of carbon, whining, overall newbie-ness, and a little dose of obnoxious. Have fun, and please be aware that, at the time, I found corny jokes about as "cool" as I found using horrific acronyms (LOL included... don't ever use LOL in my presence) and useless bumps. I assure you I have changed.

Here we see my first reply to a thread I've not started. I posted totally off topic, mainly because I was amazed that anotehr person who likes fish could live near me. Seriously. I actually emailed the link of his profile to my dad. Yeesh. Note the excessive use of periods. To make up for this period abuse in my young ages, I've started an organization, aptly called TOFTPOAOIPOIMBBSNAOSPWNRFTWBOP, or The Organization for the Prevention of Abuse of Innocent Periods on Internet Message Boards by Stupid Newbies and Other Such Persons with No Regard for the Well-Being of Periods.

And here we go with double thread posts. Here is an exact clone of the first thread I made in order to generate more responses. Man, I really loathe my old self. I mean, seriously. My blood pressure goes through the roof whenever I see similar posts nowadays. I feel like an idiot to have once been an idiot.

Ah, yes, the Tetra Nemo Scandel. I vividly remember the days of sitting on my computer and holding my keyboard and mouse in my lap while reading of Buttfish and Nemo from my monitor on the floor. This was just after we moved in. Sadly, I ruined the moment when I bumped a thread THAT WAS NOT EVEN MINE, with nothing less than a PERIOD!

I just realized it will take ages to get through every idiotic post I've ever made, so I'll give it a whirl, give up, go to bed, wake up, list every topic up until a date from two years ago, and be done with it.

Here the great Mike "Michael" Giangrasso coined a new word: De-Copperization. Expect to read about it in a dictionary soemtime in the future, and you'll be able to tell your grandkids that you read posts by the guy that invented the word in the dictionary. I'm sure they'll be impressed.

One would not be too far off if they named this the most annoying threadin the history of annoying threads created by equally annoying people. Just look at it. It's like a train wreck: all smashed up and disfigured and stuff with fire and screaming and horribleness.

Another thread I loathe on decopperization (hyphen eliminated for fear of angering PETH, People for the Ethical Treatment of Hyphens).

In the interest of not turning this thread into a million posts by your favorite person ever, I hereby declare that there will be five thread links per post. *applause*

I learned a new word ("opportunistic": plus 10 points for misspelling it). I used it. I murdered some periods. What else is new?

I have a secret to share with you all: that was not really a double post. Look at the times of both posts. I just wanted a custom avatar.

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...02#post1539902
I could have typed an "h" and combiend both posts to lessen the degree of annoyingness of my post, but, alas, I did not.

I made a horrid GIF animation for this, then it would not post. Go figure. It was just an octo talking to you. No punchline. Just blah.

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...70#post1543670
Selling post Iresponded to. I was actually going to buy the fish, but then I left RC because my parents made me convert the 55 to a FW tank, so when I came back th next year, I had lots of PMs from him about the tang. This makes it two slaps, right?

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...82#post1543682
Stupid. Plain stupid. I should have thought about it THEN posted. Bah.
