Smile How the heck do you post pics on RC???

Part of me is really, really ashamed to ask this question because I like to think of myself as relatively computer literate. But, here goes - Can someone please explain or guide me to a clear explanation of how to post my photos on an RC thread? I have looked around the site and just can't seem to figure it out. Any help provided will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Right click on the photo, go to Properties, and copy the URL for the photo. Then, click the IMG button and paste the URL of the photo. Hit enter, and the photo will be added to the message.

Thanks for the attempt, but I still don't get it. The picture files on my computer have a URL? I would really like to share some pics of my tank but can't seem to figure it out.

hi-
did you see this thread:
http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...threadid=59236
that has a guide to posting images via the IMG button but from your last post it sounds like you haven't got the pictures uploaded to the internet anywhere yet. you can either upload them to your RC gallery or find an image hosting site like photobucket and link to the image once it's uploaded there.
holler if you need help-
Greg

If you need another explanation, check out gho's site, he gives a great lesson on everything you need to know. From sizing to posting, it all starts here

Posting Pics

In order for this to work you need a website to host your pictures. I like to use www.ripway.com

Just follow these pictures step by step if you use a different hosting service.
1. Right click the image that you want to show on reef central and select Properties.

2. Next highlight the area that says Address and copy it. This can be acomplished by hitting ctrl c, or by right clicking after highlighting it.

3. Next, go to the bottom of the thread that you want to post the image to and click Post.

4. Now find the IMG buttom click that and paist the URL that you just copied in the previous step.

5. The page should look like the one below if you have done everything correctly.

.
.
For ripway use this address. for step 3

Hey Marko9-
On the second test you used the "http://" button instead of IMG I think. I just copied the url and clicked on the IMG button, entered the url by right clicking and pasting, then clicked ok and voila.
