monster skimmer for sale or trade, columbus GA.

Up for grabs is the best skimmer I have ever used. I know some might disagree, so this is JME.
What I have is a lifereef vs3-48 with a 2' extension turning it into a Vs3-72

The pic was taken before the 2nd mazzei venturi was added. This skimmer works better than my reeflo skimmer hands down. If there was a way to use it I would. This skimmer can be configured any number of ways. 4', 5', 6', one or 2 venturies, recirc, counter, co.. Its like having many skimmers in one, and if your planing an upgrade this can go with you.
The VS3-48 is rated for 500 gallon tanks The VS3-72 is rated for 1500+, with out the 2nd venturi, so with the 2nd venturi I'm sure those numbers go up.
The VS3-48 and VS3-72 go for $659 and $879 new with only one venturi. I would like to sell the skimmer for 450 dollars, I really don't want to ship this thing but can and will at buyers expense. Would be willing to trade for 2 6100 tunze streams only. Any questions please ask, and thanks for looking.
Jerry

wow, awsome skimmer. I know you prefer local pickup, but any idea how much it would cost to ship to NY 14560?

Dan fedex site says it will cost 35 dollars to ship, mind you this is just a guess with shipping weight and could be a couple more dollars.

That's not as bad as I thought it would be. Do you have any other pictures of the setup? Does it come with any pumps? I didn't know you could run a lifereef as a recirc. How do you plumb that?
Here's my email for pictures if you didn't want to post them: ddmorsch@frontiernet.net
Thanks,
Dan

I have a VS3-36 and love it. I bought it used here on RC. The guy claimed it was 2 years old, but when I received it, it looked brand new. I do have it plumbed externally with a MDX3 which is a little under sized. I only have a 125g.
One thing these things are known for is never releasing bubbles into the sump with practically zero maintenance.

no pump comes with the skimmer, the pump you use depends on how you hook it up but the venturies are suppose to get at least 1000 gph each.

I was sure you were not including any pumps for that price; I was just wondering what you used, such as how would one Mak4 do with one venturi?

Is the venturi external and how often do you have to clean it?

I have to agree Jeff at Lifereef makes one good skimmer. I am running the vs3 48 on my 180 soon to be 300. If anyone needs help with hooking these skimmers up call Jeff at Lifereef he will be more than willing to help. BILL

I may add when I bought my VS-36 skimmer used from another guy here at RC, I emailed the guy at life reef and he faxed me instructions for the skimmer within 24 hours. I thought this was above and beyond.
This is a skimmer with continued service guys.
These skimmers are simple to hook up and great producers. You cant say that about too many reef items.
