I made an order with www.aqualifesupport.com for one pump but haven't heard anything about them getting it or shipping it yet. They were supposed to be the first to get them from what they told me...

Yup I think a price drop in the Tunze Stream pumps may be seen before long. That is keep they want to keep their share of the propeller pump market

A good thing for us all IMO.

Has anyone tried that Resun? A powerhead that pushes almost 4000 gph with a controller for $100 plus shipping is amazing.

Doesn't Resun make the Sedra pumps?

^ This design of pumps aren't exactly the hardest thing to make and the cost to do so is materialistically cheap. I'm glad new companies are doing something about the overpriced pumps that are out there. I'm sure Hydor will be making a good sum of profit even with the relatively cheap prices that they are set at now.

There is an added problem with prop driven pumps from the friction between the magnet and base of the shaft... the prop pushes the magnet back into the pump. This has caused problems for a few prop pumps in the past that centrifugal pumps dont suffer from.

I dont know why they just dont have a floating magnet assembly that relies on the magnet alone to keep itself in place... no friction then. Anyways... thats a tangent...

Those prices on the Polario dont tell much. The price in the US could be the same or 2x as much. Having just come back from the UK, I can tell you... the pound is all over the place. nasdaq needs to finish its takeover of the LSE, Scotland needs to declare independence already, and the whole UK would then wisen up and adopt the Euro finally or it would be in real trouble sticking with the pound. As is, the pound is a little over 2x the value of the dollar at exchange, but in the country its worth about 1.2x if that. The UK as a whole is losing its industry because of this (who would import from a country with such a horrible exchange rate?), and its only big business is in finance (Royal Bank of Scotland movin' on up does nothing for the commoners).

Anyways, that price could mean anything.

The resun won't work in the US this is what I got from that guy in Ebay
Thank you for your attention.
The total cost = AU$150+AU$60=AU$210=USD$158
ps: The volt of the pump is 220v not 110v, it can not work in USA.
any question please let me know
best regards
david

Cris, the REsun will work but you will have to cutoff the transformer and replace it with the 110v transformer to make it work
