We have ordered our TBS "package" to be delivered at the end of the week for our 135 g!! Can't wait!

BTW, we love our LMB in our 29 g. He is loaded with personality. Everytime we look at the tank, it is like playing where's waldo with the Blenny!

That is the skimmer pump. Thanks for the compliment.

Have you ever seen the box that's used to cover the skimmer pump and act as a surface skimmer too?

I was reading some threads on here about different pumps people were using on Remoras. I guess the mag 3 and mag 5 pumps are huge. One guy with a 75 gallon tank got a mag 5 and was ticked off at how big it was.

Yours doesn't look too obtrusive to me. I keep staring at your pic and want to order a remora...

Oh well, Christmas is coming soon...

Mine is a Std. Remora not the larger pro. That guy that was freaking out about the pump was not the norm. I just returned the surface skimmer box, it was too big for my taste.

That's what I was wondering, about the box. I might get one and just return it if it's too big...like you did.

Thanks alot for all your help, really.

sump??

On the new equipment front I am toying with the idea of setting up a 20 gallon sump with an Amiricle overflow. I will move my skimmer to the 20 gallon tank if I do this, as well as the heater. What does everyone think about this idea? If I do it, it will cost about 110 dollars for everything. Is this money well spent? [/B][/QUOTE]

Did you ever do this? I am new and may want to start out this way (with the sump) but havn't seen it dicsussed in detail so I could know how to do it. Can you give some details on how you set it up, or would if you have not yet??

Thanks!!

I have not setup the sump yet. I am toying with the idea, but have not gotten serious about it yet.

Wooglan, how goes it. We need some new pics, this is a great thead or seeing what is going on. I went quick at the beginning just like your doing and I lost out on all my first set of fish because of not having a quarantine tank. Mine got the ich and I treated the tank with reef safe stuff for about a month trying different things and none of it worked. I lost out on some shrimp as well as the fish. I got all fish out and the fish that are in my tank now were all quarantined before going in the main tank.

I have 3 fish and that is all that is going in there, so now the old quarantine tank is a nano tank for fraggin corals and such.

Everything is going very well. I will post some new pictures tonight. All four of my fish are healthy, and all my corals are growing. I am losing the SPS corals that hitchiked (3 of 6 are bleaching), but that is expected. I think the key to my success is water changes. I change out 5 gallons twice a week. That way my water quality stays good. I plan on weaning to 5 gallons per week eventually, but not yet. I am also getting alot of coralline alge growth. I would say at the current rate all the rocks will be covered in about 2 months.

Are the hirocks still in there? are they getting coraline growth?

I am going to use them for base rocks, plus I have some I made(which are really too heavy and not the most porous in the world). Anyway, just curious...

That is some sweet LR! Nice hitch-hikers. Are you sure you have a mantis shrimp? Have you seen it? I hope you don't have one, they can be a total menace. Good luck.

I have mantis, I have caught one large one, and seen one baby. They are not really too bad as they are the Florida Smasher Variety.

Looking good.

I had to rearrange my aquascape today. The damn bubble was taking up to much space and touching some corals. I will take some pics tomorrow and give you the link to my site. I think it looks better, but you will see exactly what you were talking about earlier in the thread. About the Fuji rock being a bit more plain than what your getting from TBS. I will get some coralline over the rock but there are not many hitchhikers. The only corals will be what I supply.

Later!

Cool TBS rock

I'm starting my 75 gal again tonight. My shipment of TBs rock is arriving this morning. May have to get sick : I will try to document my progress. Should I start a new thread? Anyway tonight is a tank set up party I'm looking forward to rejoining the reefkeeper ranks again.

You could use this one, that way all the TBS saltwater pictures will be in one place.

He wooglin, I think you already saw my tank, but here is my website so you can see fiji rock compared to your TBS. TBS seems to have alot more life than mine.

http://rjwilson37.com

If you go to my monthly update page you can see the different stages each month so far.

Hey kashmir,
[welcome]

I share in your excitement, I recently made a deal on my latest upgrade, a 220 glass reef ready, to replace my 125. I might have to get sick for a week!
