Well, I finally found glycerine locally at our high-end grocery store. It was in the health department and by the looks of it, I am guessing 100% vegetable oil would work just as well. This 4 oz. bottle cost a little over $5, so not savings over getting it from MD.

I'm sure the Safway brand was only $1.60 or something for 100 ml. I wonder why it is so hard to find down there. I guess it could be here too. I was told at any drug store and was grocery shopping and thought I would check the drug section and it was there, I guess I could of just lucked out.

Oh well, at least you got some, it should last you a few years.

yeah, it has been disco'd from all the local drug stores. they all used to carry it, and safeway didn't have it either. same deal.

FTS

Next FTS I am going to scrape the back and overflow just to see if I like it that way or not. The reason I'm waiting is I wan't to run filter socks when I do it because it's going to be messy. I havn't had room in my sump for them for a while now I just have so much crap in it.

I did pick up another tank I'm going to make a new sump out of, 77g Hagen. I'm waiting for that to put in the new auto top off in.

Your tank looks awesome, especially considering what you told us two weeks ago. I thought you had a few losses, but you can't even tell. Your anemone continues to be a gorgeous showpiece!

Yeah I guess I'm lucky it wasn't a lot worse. Here is a pic to compare the new lighting, all T5 - 5x54w & 1x39w. Instead of the 4 vho and 2 T5's supplementing the MH's. I also outlined the two main losses, I also lost a couple other smaller colonies. I wasn't too worried about the smaller ones but the larger ones hurt.

So do you only have T-5 lighting now, no more MH's?

Or did you just swap VHO's for T-5's?

Tank looks awesome!

Thanks guys, I'm hoping it will look better when it recovers some more.

Matt - It is my Green spotted puffer, he is in the bottom center in the red outline pic also. I'll try and get a closer shot in the next while.

Catherine - It is a Bristle Tooth Tang, this is the best close up I have right now. Not a great one.

They are nice. Often called a spotted cheek tang. Bristletooths are great because they eat detritus.

Adorable tang! I didn't know they eat detritus. Is it just this particule bristletooth, or all, e.g. kole tangs, etc.?

spotted, striped and orange shoulders for sure. I am not positive about the kole to be honest.

All Ctenochaetus tangs are detritus eaters....

The Kole is a Ctenochaetus tang....

Brief hijack...its a pet peeve of mine, but the correct pronunciation of Kole is Ko-Lee, not coal. Kole is the Hawaiian name for the fish.

Uh....not that I can hear how you pronounce it here on the board....

I didn't know that Nick. Thanks for the heads up. I've NEVER heard anyone call it Ko-Lee.

Now say the latin name three times.
