It is better to run a zeolith reactor with the UltrLith system as the rocks need to be shaken every 3 days.

The best forum for answers right now is Aquarium Obsessed. We are also working on becoming a sponsor on RC so you can look for us in the near future.

ULTRALITH is a natural zeolite which efficiently removes ammonia from the water by its ion exchange properties. I think you are asking about Fauna Marin and for information ask C. Schuhmacher over on the Aquarium Obsessed sponsor forum or DarkLordCoral here on ReefCentral seems to be able to answer a lot of question on Fauna Marin.

Canarygirl, I've tried the FM Kalium test and I like it alot. Although it does have more steps to take than I'm use to, I found it very easy to understand and easy to read. If you don't mind me asking, what makes the Zeo Kalium test so difficult to read?
The KZ test has the user view an orange color bar, a gradient from dark orange to very light, through the test solution which is milky. So you make your test solution, let it sit and then place it over the orange bar. You are so supposed to move the solution along the length of the orange bar until the bar is difficult to see clearly. Talk about subjective! And it's different depending on the type of light you view it in...natural sunlight vs. florescents, etc. People send in photos of their test results and what they think their reading is, and people on the Zeovit forum say, "I think it's this, or I think it's that." It's pretty terrible, in my opinion.

So I'm very interested in learning what the FM Kalium test is like.

The FM Kalium Kit is somewhat similar in a way. Adding drops to a vial until you can barely see the orange circle. When this occurs, look at the syringe you were using to add the drops and read what it says. With that number look at the provided graph and an exact number is given. Sounds easy? I think so.

hmmm. sounds like the most difficult part is asking yourself, "can I barely see it now? How about now? Now?" That's what I do with the KZ test.

I sold my Kalium test kit, It was about as worthless as it could be.
Like trying to determine how many TDS is in water by visually looking at it
