For me it is perfect, I don't much like the look of TBS it is to big and bulky for me.

Same skimmer full of skim.

Nice pictures, we all like pictures on this thread I'll admit I was worried about the TBS being big and bulky, but I only got one small football shaped rock, everything else has great shapes. Here is my favorite one, it is a great arch and the cool thing is there are several cup corals that are on the edge of arch, so it looks like it has a curtain almost

How long does it take your skimmer to fill up? I'm considering one of the corallife skimmers and have heard many leak, but that they work good. How do you like it?

Mine leaked in the begining, i ended up using superglue where the clear and the grey pieces meet and it solved the problem.

That picture is about 15 hours worth of skim. Takes a week to get really broken in, then a few days to get it dialed in. But once it is set it works great.

I think for the money it is probably the best you can get. I would purchase another one if I had another tank.

That's a heck of a lot of skim for only 15 hours! Awesome!
How large is the collection cup?
I get about ½ of that a week with my ASM, but it looks like the asm collection cup is about double the size.

I would say that cup hold 2.5 cups when full, but that is just a guess.

Oh - I see. How'd you swing that on a public forum? Are there membership rules that I'd need to follow. An initiation fee, some type of hazing ritual?
Hi guys. What took you so long? I've been here since the beginning.

Anyone else with a HOB refugium? I was seriously thinking of getting the large CPR Aqua Fuge. It has a capacity of 4.7 gallons and a size of 25" L x 4.5" W x 12" T. That will neatly fit on the back of my tank. I have about 26 inches from the end of my skimmer to the end of the tank and about 5 inches of clearance between the tank and the wall.

I figure I could scoop a few pounds of sand from my QT tank (never had meds in it), get a nice load of worms, stars etc to bury in the sand, a few hunks of LR and some good macro algae and I would be set. I could grow pods and macro.

Of course then I wouldnt have anywhere to put the phos-ban reactor. Of course if the macro does its job I wouldnt need a phos-ban reactor!

If you want a HOB fuge and want to save some cash look at this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/PRO-24-Hang-On-R...QQcmdZViewItem

I had one on a 20H and it worked well.

Possibly, but lots of people do it, CPR does have an AquaFuge stand you can stand it on.

You can also mount the phosban reactor...it can hang on the side.

Dave, im pretty sure Phil has a hob fuge. he will prolly chime in when he gets time tonight. i made a hob fuge very similar to the design of CPR's. i used it on a 20H for quite a whie (as my only filtration) and it did very well.

The RBTA decided to move to here today:

So, I had to move this rock so it doesn't sting it...that polyp looks disgusting:

Also, can anyone tell me what the pinkish bubble is inside the frogspawn? I see 2 pinkish colored bubbles inside it:

I am going to go ahead and get the AquaFuge refugium and a light on payday. Drs. Foster and Smith have the large on sale with pump for only $89.99.

Pat, is the solid coraline algae on the sides of your tank the RBTA is attached to?

I agree - the uncircumsized ones look more natural.

No Dave, it's some kind of rubberized backing.

Yep, I decided it was time to avoid all the garbage brain jokes that are brewing

Since I've done so much cirolanid capturing I thought it would be appropriate to change and wanted my new thread to be labelled correctly. For anyone who cares to follow along on my new thread, it can be found here:

Cirolanid Hunter's 75g New Tank Journal, Research, Pics and Hunting Tips

You are all welcome to tag along and post comments. I'm in the process of building up the history of the tank and recording all my research links, but current pictures and updates will be on there before too long. I'll still update here too

Brian

Dinoflagellettes!!!!!111

I got Julian Sprungs Algae: A Problem Solver in today and I have only flipped throuogh it. I dont think, based upon his descriptions and his pictures that I have diatoms, I think I have dinoflagellettes!!!

According to him you can only let it run its course and it can take weeks to months and to not do any water changes during the outbreak!!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!11

Which expert forum should I ask in?

Go to the Chemistry Forum. I had a thread there on my algae problem and Randy and Boomer have been very helpful. I'm really not sure if mine is diatoms or dinoflagellettes. I'm adding carbon to the sump and will keep up with regular water changes and treat it like any other algae bloom......just watch it and let it take it's course. Might stop by TBS this weekend and pick up a dozen more snails as they seem to be eating it. Too bad I could not just pick up the snails and sit them on the spots covered with algae and say......munch on little dudes!!! LOL
